Dahab Kitesurfing Holiday

Dahab is great for a combination of Windsurfing, Kitesurfing and Diving; it is located on the south eastern side of the Sinai peninsular, facing Saudi Arabia across the Gulf of Aqaba. The scenery is spectacular, starting with the transfer from Sharm el Sheikh airport (approx. 1 hour) winding through cliffs and wadis. In Dahab, the mountains make a picturesque background to the sparkling blue sea.

THE SPOT:
DAHAB BEGINNER LAGOON Dahab is best known by windsurfers for is very large Lagoon which is strictly a Windsurf zone only. Just behind this area is a smaller ‘tidal’ lagoon where it is possible to Kitesurf in shallow flat water approximately 3 hours each side of high tide. This area is not ideal for free kiting (as it is limited by the tides) but is used as a teaching area (ideal due to it being so flat and shallow).

BAY VIEW New for 2009 is the Bay View Hotel, 15 minutes by speed boat from the main Lagoon, where you can Windsurf AND Kitesurf for the first time in this resort. Here there is unlimited space, cross shore wind, gentle chop and waves, top equipment and 4 star comfort in the new hotel Bay View Resort & Spa. The spot offers perfect conditions for intermediate-advanced kiters who are able to go upwind without problem.

THE WIND:
Dahab has an impressive wind record with around 300 days a year of winds between Force 4 and 7. It also has the benefit of a range of conditions to suit all levels of windsurfer. The wind comes off the land and over the sea in a cross off shore direction generally.

THE KITESURFING:
Dahab is one of our most popular resorts for Divers and Windsurfer….and now we think it will also be for Kitesurfers! This is mainly due to its incredibly reliable year around wind, variety of sailing conditions to suit all abilities, and great quality hotels with even better prices!

DAHAB HILTON RESORT
The Dahab Hilton is one of our most popular properties and our most popular hotel for divers as Sinai Divers is located on site. For such a high standard of hotel it is excellent value for money offering excellent service, great facilities and a prime beach location by the Club Mistral centre.

SWISS INN DAHAB (HALF BOARD)
The Swiss Inn is a very nice beach front property with good facilities and location. This hotel is compulsory half board only, a point that should be considered when comparing prices with other hotels here. The Club Mistral Windsurf Centre is located just along the beach.

DAHAB IBEROTEL (HALF BOARD)
Part of the class Iberotel chain, this recently opened hotel (opened March 2004) is a welcome addition to the Dahab lagoon. The hotel offers a high level of facilities, luxury rooms and very comfortable surroundings.

CORALIA CLUB
The Novotel is at the most northerly end of the bay. Although only a mid category hotel we do have a lot of specific requests and repeat clients for this property. This is mostly due to the excellent Harry Nass windsurf school and the best windsurf launch
