Powerboat, Safety Boat RYA and First Aid Courses
Come and learn how to powerboat at Paracademy Powerboat School (PS) on the ideal coastal training waters of Portland Harbour, Weymouth Bay and Portland Bill. The centre runs a range of training courses to provide you with everthing from your first steps in a powerboat through to safety boat , plus a whole range of ancilary skills courses esential to life on the water.
The PS is a fully approved RYA powerboat and first aid training centre, with top classroom and on water facilities. It has a range of boats available for you to use to give you a full range of boat handling skills and working applications. PS is also an operational rescue centre site and specialises in safety boat training and in particular kite surf rescue and Thunder Cat rescue boat training. In this area PPS is at the forefront of development and works closely with the RNLI, RYA and Thunder Cat in introducing these courses.

Powerboat Level 1 Course
Introduction to boating techniques for launching and recovering a boat from a road trailer, everyday boat handling and the use of safety equipment. One day - £100.00
Powerboat Level 2 Course
(also check out the Zap Cat section for Specific Zap Cat level 2 training) Provides the skills and background knowledge needed by the competent powerboat driver and is the basis of the International Certificate of Competence. Two days - £200.00
RYA First Aid at Sea
A specialist water orientated first aid course for anyone working or playing in that environment. The course covers all the normal first aid from CPR, control of bleeding, shock, fractures and breaks, chronic conditions, but then takes you through the more specific elements of first aid on the water. One day - £100.00
Safety Boat Course
Two day course for those who use powerboats to provide support and safety cover for other watersports such as sailing, windsurfing and canoeing. It includes rescue techniques and elements of race management and mark laying. As well as Paracademy's specialism in Kite Surf rescue. Two days - £200.00 |
