Bonaire is the least populated and least developed of the 'ABC' islands (which it forms with Aruba and Curaçao). The island measures 40km (25mi) from north to south, about 8km (5mi) wide, and lies 72km (45mi) north of Venezuela. It's hilly in the north, flat in the south and dry all over. The average daily high stays around 27°C (81°F) all year.
The Island has the reputation of being laid back, slower paced and very tranquil. The good news is that while this is all quite true, the island also offers a great nightlife, fun places to visit and world class restaurants. When you first come to the island, you are a visitor, but when you leave, you are a friend.
