We are Western Australia's premier kiteboarding school and one of the oldest schools in Australia. We are also the only IKO affiliated centre in Perth using only the best Level 2 instructors. We operate on perfect safe beaches with perfect 15-25 knot winds for most of our summer. We use latest model kites, boards harnesses and safety gear as well as the worlds most advanced radio communication helmets to our students at all times on the water. We supply everything you need except towels and rashies. Our rescue boat is on standby at all times and our IKO Level 2 instructors are courteous and professional.

AKS offer awesome downwind kite surfaris where we follow you downwind in our new 17 foot chase boat whilst giving instruction if you wish for it. Our downwinders get you out of town to some of the most pristine beaches and uncrowded reefs you have ever seen, requiring 4WD and boat to get there you can be assured of plenty of open space. Our downwinders run up to 25 kilometres through a mixture of flat water heaven, beach break and reef breaks. Check our website for more details.

We offer lessons for all levels from absolute beginner to advanced. Our clinics for girls only or guys intermediates are a sure fire way to get your skills up and increase your understanding of the sport and your trick repertior. These courses run for 5 days and are popular so booking in advance in recommended. We also run IKO Instructor traing courses twice a year for those who wish to turn their hobby into a career.

We teach everyday except Christmas and New Years Days and start each day at 12 o'clock finishing around 6.30 to 7.00pm. Perth Western Australia is one of the windiest places with the best beaches and has some of the cleanest water in the world. In summer we enjoy 6 days a week of good winds. Our beach is a flat water location as we are sheltered from the swell by the outer reefs 2 kilometres from the beach. For those that wish to try surf, then there is a beach only 2 km downwind that has small to medium waves if you care for kite surfing!

We have the Sorrento Beach Chalets, just a short distance from the kite surfing location which offer 4 star accomodation right across the road from the beach. You will need a car to get around or hire a bike to pedal the short distances to the kite centre.

Directions

Catch a bus to Hillarys Marina and then either walk up the beach or wait for the local bus to take you north up Whitfords Avenue to Pinnaroo Point.

Driving : From the roundabout at Hillarys Marina, turn right and follow Whitfords Avenue about 2.0 km until you see a sign for Pinnaroo Point (John Wilkie Tarn) then turn left and follow the carpark to the beach access which is where we will be. Follow the signs
