The beaches offer a perfect place to learn and enjoy kiteboarding. It is an international mecca for beach-goers and adventurers as Tulum offers another special attraction- the jungle. The surrounding jungle is famous for its underground river systems and cenotes ( freshwater sink holes). Divers come from all over the world to explore, study and enjoy one of the largest underground river systems in the world. Tulum is special in that it offers a variety of environments and a variety of places to stay. So, depending on your agenda we can help you find the right place for your needs.

Tulum Pueblo
Tulum Town Accommodations The town of Tulum is located 3 km from the beach and offers a variety of economical hotels for those wanting to save some money without compromising quality and comfort. There are hotels located within walking distance to town where you will find many nice restaurants and artisan markets. Staying at these hotels you might want to rent a car to go to the beach or to go sightseeing. Otherwise there is a nice bike path to the beach and taxis, buses or shuttles to take you to surrounding places. In addition, there are hotels on the outskirts of town in the jungle that offer beautiful places to stay. They are about 500 meters from the town and are more comfortable if you have a car then getting around for sightseeing is easy as well.

Tulum Beach

Tulum Beach Accommodations There are many different accommodations on the beach that vary from rustic to super luxurious, which is evident with the price. However, most places are built in a beach cabana style and all places on the beach generate their own electricity. So, for many of the places the ocean is the pool and the fans and ocean breeze are the air-conditioning. Many of the cabanas have put in extra amenities while preserving the natural bungalow feel of Tulum. These places are for people who want to chill on the beach. If you are interested in sightseeing and trips to town you will want to rent a car as some places are about 8 km from the town and taxi rides are expensive.

To find our school locations , head down the Tulum beach road from 307 and take a left at the T to go at EL PARAISO HOTEL BEACHCLUB in just 2.5 kms, you will see a sign for Playa Paraiso Hotel and XTC Kiteboarding School. Or go right at the T and after 3 kms you will find PUERTA DEL CIELO HOTEL

We offer the 1 1/2 hour INTRO and 4 hour FULL INTRO everyday at 12:30 with the course starting at 1 pm in both locations

Uolis Nah, from 307 and take a right at the traffic light and go for the Coba road. In about 200 mt on the left, you will see a sign for Hotel Uolis Nah.


Transportation
There are several options in getting to Tulum from Cancun airport or from Playa Del Carmen. Here are your options:

Rent A Car:

This is your most convenient option as then you will be mobile throughout your trip to sightsee. The cheapest is to reserve your car online. We have had success with Thrifty car rental. Please note that making a reservation online does not mean your car will be ready. In most cases be prepared for a bit of a wait to get your car.
If you want to wait until you arrive, there is a wide selection of car rental companies in the terminal as you arrive in Cancun. They do charge a fee if you do not want to return the car to Cancun and would like to drop it off in Playa Del Carmen or Tulum.

Green Line or Grey Line Shuttles:

There are vans that drop people off throughout the Riviera Maya. They charge $35 USD per person and will drop you off right at your hotel. You must wait for the 15 passenger vans to fill up before they leave so you could wait a little bit. Also, Tulum is their last stop and they wait until they have other clients going close to Tulum. This also could mean a little bit of a wait. But, hey, it's Mexico, right, and you are on vacation!

Taxi:

The fastest and easiest way is to just hire a taxi to take you to your hotel. You will pay about $90 USD to arrive in Tulum and you can fit up to 4 people in the taxi. This is the more efficient if you have a group of 4 or less.

Bus:

The bus is your cheapest option. They charge you $8 USD and they leave to Playa Del Carmen every hour. You catch them at the far right end of the airport as you exit the terminal. You must walk past the airport and you will find the buses parked in a parking lot. The name is ADO. Once you arrive in Playa Del Carmen you must then take a bus to Tulum. This costs about $6 USD. You will arrive in the heart of Tulum and from there you can take a taxi to the hotel for about $4 USD.
