Stretching from Blanes, 60km north of Barcelona, to the French border, the rugged coast of Costa Brava boasts wooded coves, high cliffs, pretty beaches and deep blue water. Lagoon Watersports windsurf site is located in the Bay of Roses in the picturesque area of Sant Pere Pescador. We are 30 minutes from Girona, 2 hours from Barcelona and 1 hour from France. The area marked by the broad sweep of the Golf de Roses. Coves give way to long stretches of sand, which makes a fantastic location for a watersports site.
There are frequent short flights (under 2 hours from the UK) into Girona and Barcelona. A transfer to Girona is 40 minutes and Barcelona is a hour and half by train for under 10€, giving you options to combine a windsurf trip with a city break.
The area boasts excellent sailing conditions and with the warm Mediterranean sea it makes falling into the sea a pleasant experience! During the summer season the winds are like clockwork building throughout the day, bringing perfect morning conditions for beginners and excellent planing conditions in the afternoons. During the Spring and Autumn the Northerly Tramontana brings very strong winds making this a great location for keen windsurfers.
Windsurf trips
Our centre is 100 metres from the waters edge, with all the equipment already rigged and RYA qualified instructors at hand to help you gain maximum enjoyment of the sport and further your sailing ability. Safety cover is provided and personal tuition plans are provided for the duration of your visit.
Accommodation can be in one of two campsites located right next to the centre. There are plenty of accommodation options with two to six person apartments and cabins as well as simple tent pitches. There is also a selection of hotels and farmhouse apartments in the area to suit all tastes, requirements and budgets.
The kit we provide are the new Gaastra sails and Tabou boards, sail sizes from 4.0 to 9.0 metres and boards from 87 to 140 litres with beginners boards are also available on site.
The location is not just brilliant for windsurfing, we also can offer other watersports like kitesurfing, Catamaran sailing and kayaking. If you fancy some land sports then cycling, go carting, sky diving and horse riding all are options. The area is also exceptionally beautiful with numerous sights of interest so if you feel like exploring you could hire a car or use the excellent public transport links.
When the day is over there is plenty to do in the evening. We will be organizing BBQ´s and group dinners on and off site throughout the week, plus our staff will always be able to advise you on local places to visit, to soak up that wonderful relaxing Mediterranean atmosphere |
