Kitesurfing or Kiteboarding has exploded on to the Extreme Sports scene over the past five years; it takes the best from a range of water sports like surfing, wakeboarding, windsurfing and paragliding. With the introduction of modern equipment and a structured approached to learning which is developed by the International Kitesurfing Organisation (IKO), learning to Kitesurf has never been easier. This two day course will give you a solid introduction to the sport and if you have a grounding in board sports you may achieve IKO Level 2 certification which means that you will be issued with a card that will enable you to kitesurf and hire kiteboarding equipment all over the world - however we do recommend the three day course if you want to give yourself the best chance of achieving this standard. Whatever your goals, this is a great two days where you will learn loads and have a bucket load of fun!

Itinerary

Day one is all about getting to know the equipment and learning how to fly a kitesurf kite (which is 90% of what kitesurfing is about), you will also learn about important safety procedures and you should finish the day body-dragging which is huge fun but expect to get a mouth full of water!

Day two is all about trying to get up on the board and moving and you may start to learn plenty more such as rules of the road and the holy grail of learning to kitesurf which is riding up wind.

Duration:
Duration of the course is 2 days, approximately 4 hours per day.

What to Wear / Equipment:
All the equipment will be provided by the centre, including the kite, board, wetsuit, harness and helmet. We recommend bringing a towel, swimsuit, a change of clothes, a hat, sungalsses, sunscreen or sunblock and a bottle of water.

Group Size / Spectators:
Maximum group size is 4 participants per instructor. Friends are family members are welcome to watch.

Weather:
Kitesurfing is dependent on the weather (basically you need wind), and the tide. Please call ahead to confirm that the activity will to take place. Should there be a cancellation, the centre will provide alternative dates.

Availability:
You will be able to carry out the course during all the year except in:
Tarifa: during the months from March to December.
Reinosa: from June to September.
Santander: from September to November and since of March to June.

Restrictions:
The minimum age required depends on the location, this can be from 7 to 12 years. Please contact us if you need any specification.
Tarifa & Alicante: Under 18, the father/mother will need to attend to the first class as well. In the remainder of the locations under 18 years need permission of the parents.

You should feel comfortable in the water.
If you have some private medical condition that believe that can affect in your abilities to do the course, please verifies with the center.
