Planet are proud to announce the unveiling of the newest kitesurf resort in Egypt in the area of Nabq, Sharm El Sheikh - exclusive to Planet Kitesurf. The Nabq area is located on the North side of Sharm El Sheikh, 10 minutes from the Airport, on the same coast line as Dahab, famous for its constant winds. The main bay in front of the centre offers flat shallow water, perfect for beginners and improvers or the more advanced riders looking for super easy conditions to practise new tricks. Sharm offers the perfect combination of high quality hotels right on site, huge amount of resort facilities (restaurants, bars and clubs) a short taxi ride away and several flight per week from many UK departure points. This is a perfect choice for all levels of kitesurfers travelling alone or with non-kiting partners. WAVE SPOT A short distance to the North of the centre, accessible from land or by riding upwind is a bay with waves rolling in to a shore break. Maybe not a real wave spot, but very different from what you are used to in Egypt, and a nice playground for the advanced rider.

Prices do not include kit insurance that can normally be arranged locally at approx 35 Euro.

Most kitesurf schools will only rent equipment if you are IKO level iii or equivalent (riding up wind). Some school will rent to level ii kitesurfers but may charge a 30% supplement for 'supervised rental.'

Before rental is confirmed, all riders must prove their level of competence.

Itinerary

Colona Watersports kitesurfing center are affiliated with IKO (International Kiteboarding Organisation) and are training students to IKO standards leading to IKO certification. The Level I kitesurfing course starts three times a week. Their kitesurfing instructors are IKO certified and speak English, German and Swedish. This is the perfect Kitesurf beginner and improver spot!

The center is equipped with Naish kites and Naish & Nobile boards. Along with instruction rental is available from hourly to weekly. As the wind here tends to be in the morning they have a special weekly rate for half days.

Accommodation Details

RADISSON HOTEL
The Radisson SAS, Nabq, is located on it's own stretch of private, sandy beach in Nabq Bay, about 20 minutes north of Naama Bay, in a quiet location.

THE REGENCY
A good 4 star hotel directly located on the beautiful beach of Nabq Bay where our Kitesurf School is located, this is the perfect location for your kitesurfing vacation. The hotel has two swimming pools and a childrens pool. The well kept gardens are beautifully laid out and the patio bar is a perfect spot for a sundowner after a long day in the sun. For night owls the Grotto Discotheque is open until 2.00 am. The hotel offers a childrens club for 2 hours in the morning and in the afternoon for 4 - 12 year olds. As well as the main buffet restaurant there is an A la Carte restaurant, pool bar and beach bar serving snacks during the day. Other facilities include 2 tennis courts and mini golf.

ORIENTAL RESORT
The rooms here are very spacious with all modern facilities including air-con, Sat TV, mini bar and large bathroom (with bath and shower). Each has a private balcony overlooking the pool areas, well groomed gardens or some with sea view. For families there is the option of either interconnecting rooms or the standard rooms can accommodate up to 2 children sharing with 2 adults.

HOTEL NABQ
This Hotel is a charismatic small hotel based inland approximately 5 minutes by shuttle bus from the beach (running all day from 0930). The hotel has quite a young and sociable atmosphere and is ideally suited to those looking to travel of more of a budget who don't mind not being right on the beach.

MIRABEL BEACH RESORT
The Mirabel Beach Resort is the 5* wing of the Mirabel Resort offering 5* luxury, right on the beach next to the Kitesurf School, for those looking for quiet opulence in a perfect location. The distinctive style of JAZ Mirabel Beach pairs contemporary Tuscan architecture with warm Egyptian service. The inviting lobby area and huge pools, alluring restaurants and cool bars, pristine beachfront and modern stylish rooms make your stay here relaxing to the extreme.

LAGUNA VISTA RESORT
This stunning property is definitely the highest standard of accommodation available in the resort of Nabq. From the minute you walk into the amazing lobby you realise that you are in an exceptional hotel. The resorts theme is Sinai nature reflected in the unique elegance of its architectural. This hotel is ideal for those looking for a very high standard of accommodation with on-site dive centre. The hotel is a 20 minute walk along the beach to the Kitesurf School (bicycles can be arranged for the 5 minute ride along the promenade to the school).

SHAMS SUITES (NABQ RESORT)
The Shams Suites Hotel is located on the shores of a lagoon in the popular Nabq Bay a short walk to the Kitesurfing School and a 20 minute walk to the diving centre. The hotel offers excellent value for money for those looking to be in an excellent location without paying the higher prices for the larger 4 & 5* beach from hotels.

CORAL SEA RESORT
The Coral Sea Resort is located directly on the beach in Nabq just a few minutes walk from the kite centre. This attractive and popular hotel has 2 outdoor pools (one heated) and 1 dive pool, sun terrace with sun loungers and towels provided. There are 3 restaurants including 1 buffet style restaurant and 2 a la carte restaurants, poolside bar and an Irish style pub.
