Dakhla is one of the most incredible kitesurf locations in the world ! A huge lagoon, open to the sea, set in the middle of the Sahara desert a 2 hour flight south from Marrakech - it has to be seen to be believed. Dakhla is most appealing to those with a sense of adventure; the kitesurf centre is based in a well equipped camp on a sandy outcrop right in the middle of this massive lagoon. There is very little else around here except for the town of Dakhla, which is surprisingly big for such a remote spot, about a 25 minute drive from the camp. Kitesurfing Spots:- DAHKLA BAY For the more experienced riders Dahkla offers the option for some serious wave sailing. A 25 minute drive from the camp, just past the town, you will find an awesome waves spot with side/side onshore wind and safe beach break with 2 - 4 metres waves. In the main lagoon the water is generally very flat with a large area of waist deep water ideal for learning and mastering those new moves. There is also a huge beach area clear of any obstacles making a perfect training zone for kite flying. One of the main attractions of this incredible location is the combination of both flat water for beginners to intermediates combined with an adrenaline pumping wave spot for those who dare.

THE WIND:-
The wind in Dakhla is fairly consistent bft 4-6 year round but with the best conditions during the summer months from May to October. During this time the intense heat from the desert draws the wind in from the sea due to the temperature differential.

Accommodation Details

DAKHLA CAMP:-
Located right on the shores of the Dakhla lagoon this unique camp is a unlike anything you will have experienced before. The large Bedouin style tents create a wonderfully relaxing atmosphere providing Moroccan hospitality at its best. The camp is on a full board basis where the camp chefs create incredible menus in the most unlikely of kitchens.

You have a choice of staying in the Bedouin Camp or the Dragon Camp. The Bedouin Camp you sleep either in a large collective tent with individual inner tents or there are private tents for individuals, couples and families. Washing and toilet facilities are communal. The Dragon Camp is a collection of 30 bungalows on 4 levels built to blend into the hillside. All bungalows have a private bathroom and a private terrace with stunning views of the bay.
