Do you need all the skills to become a safe and independent kitesurfer? This is the course for you. The 3 day course takes a more in depth look at the kites, boards and safety equipment available. It aims to provide you with the skills and information necessary to progress to becoming a safe and self sufficient kite surfer. Four line kites are used for all the teaching although four line de-powerable kites are covered in theory with a practical demonstration. This course is a recognised IKO course, all the instructors are IKO level 1 or level 2 instructors. Come along and enjoy our calm water and miles and miles of white sand beaches.

Itinerary

Basic kite skills are gained on land using two line foils. Once mastered the more familiar leading edge inflatables (LEI's) are introduced. You will be coached through the necessary aspects of ground handling, safe launch and landing and pack away skills prior to going into the water. Theory on topics such as the wind window, safety issues, choice of places to kite surf and third parties are also covered.

Once in the water you will be taught to relaunch your kite and use it to drag you through the surf. Emergency procedures such as self recovery and packing up your kite whilst in the water are all covered.

Finally its time to get up on the board. Water starting is practised with an aim to you having your first kite surfing experience.
At the end of this course you will have the skills and knowledge to progress safely towards becoming a proficient kite surfer.
