The ancient fortified town of Essaouira offers a unique mixture of culture and Atlantic sailing conditions. This pretty whitewashed town has been a thriving port for fifteen centuries, and is steeped in history offering an exciting and enchanting holiday destination. Essaouira offers kitesurfers the opportunity to sail in a whole variety of conditions. In the summer months, you can count on finding a slight windchop to flat conditions in the morning, with waves building in the afternoon. Wave conditions are especially good on the southern side of the bay in spring and autumn (1 -2 m) and from mid-June to August (0.5 to 1 m). Although water temperatures may not be comparable with those in the Caribbean (17-20°C), you will find a wide variety of conditions in Morocco, plenty of space and completely reliable winds in the main season. Scheduled flights operate daily from Heathrow and Gatwick to Marrakech. Charter flights operate once a week from Gatwick & Manchester to Agadir. Transfer time is 2.5 hours from Marrakech and 3.5 hours from Agadir.

SKYRIDERS
Sky Riders is our one of our most highly respected partners. No where else will you find such consistently high levels of service, professionalism and equipment! This new Skyriders centre in Morocco opened this May and is managed by Sebastien Deflandre.

In summer, beginners' courses are held from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m., when the wind is not so strong. The bay of Essaouira is ideal for kitesurfing: There is no current or reef and the sandy beach stretches for 3 kilometres. There are no separate kitesurfing and windsurfing zones, as there is plenty of room on the water. Advanced kitesurfers and windsurfers can ride at spots further to the south such as Mouly Bouzarktoune and Sidi Kaoki. Our Club Mistral centre also organises trips to these spots.

OLD TOWN RIAD WAHED
This superb Riad reflects the character of its charismatic owner who has spend many year travelling the world collecting African artifacts displayed throughout the property. Based in the heart of the old city, yet with stunning vies over the bay from its roof top terrace, it is within a short stroll of many local restaurants and small bizzaraes.
There are a small number of studio rooms and 1 bedroom apartments, al very spacious with a truly Moroccan decor. Great thought and attention has gone into the furnishing of the rooms and public areas with the aim of creating a calm and tranquil based from which to explore the hustle and bustle of he old city.

With just 6 rooms this amazing property has spacious stylish interiors renovated less than a year ago; brand-new ground floor restaurant/bar and fantastic roof terrace with panoramic views of Essaouira’s beach and harbour front

WINDSURFERS BOUTIQUE
The Guest House is located 100 meters from the beach & Club Mistral beginner centre and a short stroll to the old city. The hotel reflects the owners (Seb and Maria) passion for central and northern Africa mixed with a contemporary modern flare resulting in a sophisticated but warm feel. All rooms have private bathrooms made out of natural marble and tadlakt, with bath-tub and toilet. They are all equipped with twenty inch LCD screen, international satellite channels, telephone, safe, mini bar and room service. Additional services include broadband wireless internet connection, Laundry service and Baby sitting.

SOFITEL
The Sofitel offers the highest standard of hotel in the area conveniently located opposite the main beach and the new Club Mistral beginner / family windsurf centre. This hotel is ideal for those with non-windsurfing partners or family that are looking for a very high standard of accommodation with excellent facilities and large rooms.The room are very spacious with all the finesse you would expect from a 5* hotel including full room service, super quiet air-conditioning, good size balcony (most with sea or pool views) and sat. TV. Other hotel facilities to include a fully serviced spa, large swimming pool, gym, 3 restaurants (Al La Carte, Moroccan and Sea Food), bar and pool side service.

HOTEL ZAHRA
Excellent value for money hotel located a short walk from the beach and the main Club Mistral windsurf centre. The hotel is very popular with windsurfers and kitesurfers and so has a good atmosphere. There are double, triple or family rooms, some with balconies, all spacious. All with satellite TV, en-suite shower/WC. Please note there is no safe and no hair driers. There is also a small swimming pool and very nice bar / cafe backing on the garden / pool area. A room top balcony offer superb views over the bay, perfect for checking the wind conditions !
